Gurukulam, a free school for the under-privileged was founded in 2004 with a vision to break generational poverty lifecycle through quality education.

Founded in 2004, 34 students and 2 teachers.
Presently 243 students from LKG to Grade XII, with 22 teachers and 8 staff
Located in Kovalam, Chennai
Key Features
First-generation English learners
All subjects taught in English medium
Parents earning less than Rs 12000/-pm (approx US $ 4 per day)
All activities, uniforms, books, food and education provided free of charge to the children.
